Crowder College Hosts 15th Annual Fundraiser for Scholarships

The 15th Annual Festival of Wreaths took place at Crowder College in Neosho Tuesday night where supporters gathered for silent and live auctions to help fundraise scholarships for students.

Crowder’s Director of Public Information, Cindy Brown, shared with Newstalk KZRG what the event is all about. “All the proceeds go to the Crowder College Foundation and all the money is used for scholarships. This year we gave away about $300,000 in scholarships to 290 students…this is our biggest fundraiser for scholarships.”

Brown says the event has grown tremendously in the past few years thanks to donations from residents and local businesses.

Last year the event raised over $127,000. This year’s donation numbers have not yet been calculated.
