If your yard lost last weekend's fight with the high winds, there’s some good news. Joplin is doing free curbside pickup for tree limbs and storm debris.
Basically, drag all the branches, leaves, and general leafy chaos to the curb before the morning of Monday, July 6. Not the street, not the sidewalk—curb.
If you’re feeling ambitious, you can haul it yourself to the drop-off on Schifferdecker through June 27, or even burn it… just call first so nobody mistakes your yard for a distress signal.
Important fine print: crews get one pass. One. This is not a “circle back later” situation. Miss it, and those branches become your long-term roommates.
They’ll take limbs and foliage, but not your fence, your shingles, or that mystery debris you’re pretending isn’t yours. Also, they won’t come into your yard—this is curbside or bust.
If you can’t move stuff yourself, the city’s got volunteers who can help, which is honestly the most neighborly part of this whole thing.
Full details, maps, and all the official whatnots are up at joplinmo.org. But the short version: pile it up, get it ready, and let the city handle the heavy lifting… once.
