Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” just hit the Billboard Hot 100 for the very first time... fifty years after it came out. Half a century later, and it debuts at #41, all thanks to being featured in the Stranger Things series finale. Guess the Upside Down really does weird things to time.
Back in 1975, “Landslide” wasn’t even a Top 100 hit — wild, considering it’s gone double platinum and sold over two million copies. The only version that ever charted before this was a live one from their 1997 album, The Dance, which made it to #51 in ‘98. Close, but no cigar.
Still, fifty years later, Stevie Nicks’ gentle heartbreak ballad finally gets its chart moment. Thanks to seven million streams, a few radio spins, and a few thousand nostalgic downloads, “Landslide” is finally where it belongs — soaring up the charts.
