Fun Ideas to Celebrate Christmas In July

So… it’s July, it’s a million degrees, and somehow we’re all thinking about Christmas.  How about a little fake winter break from the heat?

You don’t have to go "Full Christmas"...just keep it lowkey. Swap snowballs for water balloons and suddenly you’ve got a “blizzard” that won’t melt in 3 seconds. Throw on a Christmas movie and see who actually knows the lines, or try acting out carols like “Jingle Bell Rock” without using words… which is harder than it sounds.

Food-wise, this is where things get fun. Hot chocolate in July feels mildly unhinged, but add ice cream and now it’s a festive choice. Or go full mashup: BBQ ribs next to mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce like it totally makes sense. Or, maybe not. Be creative!

If you’re feeling festive, decorate—but make it summer. Beach balls as ornaments, pool noodles as candy canes… it’s chaotic, but it works. Bonus points for an ugly Christmas t-shirt instead of a sweater, because, you know, heatstroke.

And if you really want to commit, go caroling. In July. Your neighbors will either love you or never make eye contact again.

Either way, it’s Christmas… just with better weather and fewer expectations.
