Because August is almost over and we want to help you lighten the load and enjoy the last bit of summer.
First up: washing the windows. Between pollen, bugs, sprinkler spray, and those random summer storms, you’d basically be cleaning them just in time for nature to redecorate them. Wait for cooler weather and fewer streaks.
Heavy dusting can also take a number. Baseboards and ceiling fans aren’t going anywhere, and summer pollen is still floating around like it pays rent. Light dust as needed and save the full-on dust battle for September.
Same deal with rugs, curtains, and upholstery. Everybody’s been tracking in summer dirt, so give it a little longer before deep-cleaning. Just vacuum first...unless you enjoy turning dry dirt into a weird damp paste.
And the yard? Water it, sure. But skip the major pruning until the heat breaks. Your plants are not trying to become their best selves right now. They’re just like you, trying to survive August.
Finally, the garage. It’s still the headquarters for coolers, lawn tools, beach chairs, and whatever else got tossed in there. Clean it after summer gear is done making its final mess, not before.
