Abandoned At Urgent Care
By Thom Watts·October 15, 2026
You know it's not always true when they say “the doctor will be right with you!” But this turned patient abandonment into an escape room with copay.
Tia Chandler went to urgent care in Keene, New Hampshire, after a cat allergy triggered an asthma attack.
They gave her a steroid shot, told her, “We’ll be right back,” which apparently meant… next business day.
About half an hour later, the place was quiet. Morgue quiet. Tia peeked out of the exam room and discovered everybody had clocked out, locked up, and left her behind like tomorrow's paper work.
Then she tripped the alarm. Because apparently NOW the building cared somebody was inside.
She called 911, and police got her out. Thankfully, she’s fine.
ConvenientMD apologized and said rooms are supposed to be checked before closing.
Solid policy. Works better when you actually do it.
Tia says she “probably won’t” go back.
