A woman in need of emergency care, and the man behind the wheel allegedly decided the real emergency was getting off the clock.

An ambulance driver in Cleveland is accused of leaving a woman with chest pains mid-trip because he was “done driving for the day.”

She was headed to the Cleveland Clinic. He allegedly got lost, decided that was enough public service, and called himself an Uber. Not for her. For him.

Imagine having chest pains and discovering the only ride getting finished tonight is your driver’s.

He worked for Lynx EMS, a private company—not Cleveland EMS. Those paramedics arrived after the original driver allegedly left, they treated the woman, and got her to the hospital.

Lynx says patient safety is a top priority and it’s reviewing what happened.

At Lynx EMS…EMS must stand for “End of My Shift.”
