Chiefs Release Renderings of New $3 Billion Stadium Contour Your Confidence!

The Chiefs just gave us a sneak peek at their future digs—and yeah, it’s a pretty big swing. We’re talking a $3 billion, 70,000-seat domed stadium planned for Kansas, hopefully ready by the 2031 season.

The roof? Fully enclosed and made of this translucent material that sounds like something out of a science lab, but basically it lets in light while keeping the weather out. So… no more frozen fingers and toes in December.

Design-wise, they didn’t totally ditch Arrowhead. There’s still that familiar curved look and those scalloped end zones, just polished up for the next generation.

And they’re very aware of one thing: Arrowhead is loud. Like, “your ears are still ringing on Tuesday” loud. So this new place is being built to keep that energy—and maybe crank it up a notch.

The funding is a mix of public STAR bonds covering up to 70%, plus a cool $1 billion from the Hunt family. The whole area’s getting built out too—training facility, tons of parking, and yes, tailgating is very much staying.

They haven’t locked in the exact spot yet, but it’s looking like Wyandotte County, possibly near Kansas Speedway and Legends.

And once it’s up? They’re aiming big—Super Bowls, Final Fours, World Cup matches… basically turning it into a year-round spotlight.
