Costumed Batman Chases Thief, Recovers Purse

In Norwich, England, a birthday party took a hard turn into Gotham City.

Sonni Mason was out in costume as Batman when a stranger allegedly started a scrap over cigarettes, grabbed a woman’s handbag, and bolted into the night.

So Batman did what Batman does: pursue bad guys..

Mason chased the guy through the streets, with a comic-book backup crew close behind: Mr. Fantastic, Poison Ivy, and Cyclops. Somewhere, Marvel and DC’s legal departments felt a disturbance in the Force.

Police joined the pursuit, but the suspected thief had apparently ditched the bag. A tip led the cape-and-cowl crew to Norwich Cathedral, where the handbag had been tossed atop a tall flint wall.

They tried knocking it down with a roll of toilet paper—which, let’s be honest, is less Dark Knight and more restroom vigilante.

When that failed, Batman scaled the wall, recovered the bag, and got it back to its owner—with everything still inside.

No Batmobile. No grappling hook. Just one good deed, one stone wall, and a very determined dude in a cape.
