The Great $30 Walmart Caper

Police in Albany, Georgia launched what may be the most expensive search for $30 EVER. 
A guy dropped $30 while shopping at the Walmart. Another man found it on the floor, picked it up, and kept walking, probably thinking it was his lucky day.
But the person who lost it called the police. Officers checked security video, grabbed a photo of the alleged “suspect,” and put it on Facebook asking for help identifying him.
Naturally, people had questions. Mainly: “Are we really spending police resources tracking down a guy over 30 dollars?” That’s fair, especially since the investigation may have cost more than the missing cash.
Eventually, the man came forward and returned the money. The person who dropped it decided not to press charges, so the case of "The Great $30 Walmart Caper" is officially closed.

Police said, “Property is property,” which is true. But no word on whether the guy actually saw the cash get dropped—or just spotted it sitting there between the self-checkout and somebody’s abandoned cart.
