By Thom Watts·October 23, 2026
Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The event is held at more than 44-hundred locations across the country, letting people safely dispose of old and unused prescription medication. The DEA is working with thousands of law enforcement agencies to set up the take back sites.
The sites will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Officers from the Joplin Police Department will be stationed in front of the Walmart Supercenter at 1501 S. Range Line Road to collect expired, unused, and unwanted prescription medications.
