Two airport “jokes” lead to two arrests

Two guys at Miami International Airport apparently missed the memo: airport security is not the place to workshop your "bomb threat against an airline" material.

Osniel Blanco-Lopez was checking in when an American Airlines agent asked if he had any dangerous goods. He said no… then added, in Spanish, “I have a grenade,” and laughed.

Unfortunately, another employee understood Spanish. A bomb-sniffing K-9 checked out his luggage, found nothing, and police arrested him anyway for making a false bomb report.

And because apparently lightning can strike twice at baggage claim, the very next day, a 33-year-old man at the same airport was asked about lithium batteries or incendiary devices. He said, “No… but I have a bomb.”  He was also arrested.

So, just a handy travel tip: joke about your terrible vacation plans, or how bad the airline food might be. DO NOT joke about explosives.
