May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and fitness expert Stephanie Mansour says the secret isn’t some complicated overhaul—it’s movement and what you’re putting on your plate.

First up: eat for energy. Translation? Don’t wait until you’re hangry and questioning your life choices. Try eating every 3 to 4 hours—mix in carbs, protein, and healthy fats. Think apple and peanut butter, yogurt and berries… you know, snacks that don’t come from a gas station roller grill.

Next: eat for mood. Turns out a Mediterranean-style diet—fruits, veggies, nuts, healthy fats—can actually help lower your risk of depression. Bonus points for foods like blueberries, walnuts, and even turmeric. Basically, if it sounds like something a wellness influencer loves, it’s probably doing something right.

And finally, don’t ditch comfort food—upgrade it. Toss some veggies on your pizza, add beans to your tacos, sneak greens into pasta. Same comfort, less regret.

So yeah, you don’t need a full life reset… just a few smarter bites and maybe a walk that isn’t to the fridge.
