Florida Cop Handcuffs Runaway Emu

Florida, where the weird news never sleeps. A deputy gets a call regarding a runaway emu. Yeah, an emu. Not your usual traffic stop.
Bodycam’s rolling, and Cpl. Keisler’s out there like, “Dispatch, I’m in pursuit of… an emu.” The bird’s bolting down the road, Keisler’s trying to keep up, and somewhere in all this chaos he goes, “I’ve never handcuffed an emu before.” Which, fair. Who has?
Eventually, he corners the feathery fugitive near what looks like its pen. The emu’s not exactly cooperative—throws a few kicks, ignores commands, the whole thing. Keisler, unfazed, uses a makeshift lasso, gently secures the legs with handcuffs, and jokes, “Are you done resisting?”
No emus—or egos—were harmed. The bird’s back home safe with its owner, and the sheriff’s office assures us all charges have been dropped. Just another day in Florida law enforcement. 🦩
