Lottery Curse: Kentucky Powerball Winner Arrested for FIFTH Time

Kentucky’s $167 million Powerball winner is proving that money may buy a Mustang, but it can’t necessarily buy good decisions.

James Farthing was arrested early Sunday after deputies found him snoozing in a running white Mustang at a Georgetown Walmart. Not exactly the luxury-living montage you picture after hitting the jackpot.

Police say the car had reportedly been sitting in an intersection around 3 a.m. before rolling into the Walmart lot. Deputies knocked for several minutes before Farthing woke up. They reported the smell of alcohol and marijuana, bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and the kind of balance usually reserved for a shopping cart with one bad wheel.

Farthing reportedly said a woman had dropped him off—but surveillance video allegedly showed nobody else getting out.

He’s charged with public intoxication. It’s reportedly his fifth brush with criminal charges since winning that $167.3 million Powerball prize last year.

Moral of the story: The Powerball can pay out in millions of dollars. But, this dude is still waiting on a shiny nickel's worth of Common sense.
