Man Heats His Home With Doughnuts

A man in Poland is literally running a Krispy Kreme furnace after he figured out it’s cheaper to heat his house with doughnuts than with wood.

Marek Hoffmann noticed that Lidl doughnuts cost about three cents each and pack 440 calories — and since calories are basically heat energy, he did some math. Turns out 133 doughnuts give off the same heat as 22 pounds of firewood — but for about two bucks less.

So Marek made a little air gap in his stove, tossed in a pile of glazed kindling, and fired it up. Five hours later, his house went from 57 to 72 degrees. Warm, cozy, and smelling like a bakery at sunrise.

It actually worked — science says so. So yeah, in Poland, breakfast officially doubles as home heating now. And proves… it’s only a stupid idea if it DOESN’T work.
