Some people just really hate being woken up. It all went down in Florida, a bus terminal, late last Monday night. A guy named Austin Simmons looks totally passed out on a bench. Someone, being decent, goes to check if he’s okay. Big mistake.
Austin wakes up furious, grabs a ketchup packet and hurls it at the poor Good Samaritan. The “victim” ends up with... two red spots on his jacket. Tragic.
Normally this would be a “wipe it off and move on” situation, but Austin had a prior battery conviction, so boom — felony assault. And just when you think it can’t get more Florida, cops also find a bit of cocaine on him. So now it’s ketchup, battery, and possession — the world’s messiest combo meal.
He’s looking at up to five years in prison — all because of a ketchup packet.
