In Columbus, Ohio William Bush was being investigated for allegedly setting a fuel tank fire… and then shows up to his police interview looking like a live demonstration of “how it started.”
Singed eyebrows, burned cheek, crispy earlobe, arm wrapped up—basically looking and smelling like a cautionary tale.
Cops had already seen surveillance of a guy in a Dodge Dakota siphoning gas before everything went whoosh. And in a move that feels very on-brand, he lights a cigarette mid-theft… which apparently turns the whole situation into a fireball.
At first, he tells investigators the burns came from a “brush fire,” which… sure. Just your average, eyebrow-targeting brush fire.
Then they show him the video.
Suddenly it’s, “Okay yeah, I was stealing gas from my old job… and accidentally set everything on fire.”
He’s now Mr. Bush is facing felony arson charges—which feels like the least surprising ending possible.
