In Florida, checking the front porch has become a full-on wildlife documentary.
A Palm Bay, Florida family got a late-night motion alert from their garage camera—and found a seven-and-a-half-foot alligator making itself very comfortable right in front of the door. The family watched from the safety of the window as this prehistoric porch pirate crawled out of the grass and basically said, “Nobody’s leaving tonight.”
The homeowner said the scary part was their small dog, who often goes outside late at night. Luckily, the camera caught the gator before anybody opened the door for a potty break with teeth.
They called 911, police arrived, and a wildlife trapper removed the oversized welcome mat just before sunrise. Lesson learned: in Florida, always check the porch. Twice.
