A squirrel in Northern California made Easter Sunday a little less “bright.”
The regions utility company says about 22,000 people in lost power Sunday morning when one overly curious squirrel played daredevil with a power pole. The poor thing damaged a glass insulator, sparked a small vegetation fire, and took out a transmission line—all before brunch.
Fire crews jumped on it fast, no homes damaged, no injuries, and power was back within a couple hours.
The utility company says the system shut itself down as a safety measure—so really, it worked like it’s supposed to… just not the most festive way to find out.
