Tesla Pulls Over After DUI Driver Passes Out

A Florida woman decided Tesla Autopilot meant “designated driver.”

Kimberly Brown was reportedly cruising along I-75 at around 2 a.m., clocking in at about twice the legal limit… and fully trusting her car to handle the rest. Bold strategy. Stupid, but bold.

Problem is, Tesla’s not that kind of friend. It actually expects you to stay awake and, you know… alive behind the wheel. There are sensors that check if you’re paying attention.

Kimberly? Not paying attention. Kimberly was asleep.

So the car did what any a majority of autopiloted vehicle does … it just gave up. Shut itself down. Right there. Middle lane of the interstate.

Troopers found her passed out in her parked Tesla, basically turning I-75 into a very dangerous nap zone.

She’s now facing DUI charges, and officials are gently reminding everyone that “Autopilot” is more “co-pilot,” less “take me home, because I’ve made poor choices.”
