Down in small-town Louisiana, in peaceful pond, one determined woman was chasing her inner Ariel. Police in Linville, just north of Monroe, showed up to a neighbor’s property after reports of a naked trespasser — turns out, it was Erin Sutton, mid-dip, fully committed to “becoming a mermaid.”
Not her first visit, apparently. The pond’s practically her second home. Deputies asked her nicely to get out, but Ms. Sutton wasn’t having it. When reason failed, fists and feet took over. After a brief and very un-magical scuffle, officers got her out and into custody.
On the way to the hospital, she allegedly threatened to bring a little "siren doom" to everyone in the car. So, not the Disney ending she envisioned, but hey, every mermaid has to start somewhere.
